So, let's get started one of the most obvious photography side-hustles there are is probably becoming an assistant photographer, but this is the one that I use the most throughout my career to make consistent income and as my mom can attest, I started off in college. This is actually the first gig I ever had in photography was being an assistant shooter for a wedding photographer, and the way it happened was my friend actually called me up.

Who was a second photographer at the time it was like: “Hey, you're, creative! I can't make this wedding. Do you think you can fill in? I was like; “Absolutely I will!”

Like: “Yeah I'll make $25 an hour!” So I was saying; “Great. Let's do it!”

I ended up going and the first photographer saw how passionate and into it I was. He actually hired me. I ended up working for him for like six or seven years. That's quite a long time, and eventually, that one gig turned into a whole entire business that I now support myself with.

So it's kind of crazy to think that this college job, kept me through college.

I literally worked eight hours in one weekend on a wedding shoot and made as much as most students working 20 hours part-time on minimum wages. I turned my photography into a career, even though I have a degree.

So it's one of those things like you never really know what will happen. It was a great way to learn photography because you're working under someone. A person that's hyper-specialized in their niche and knows the industry in and out.

So not only are you getting paid but you're also learning as well. It's hands-down the best way to get your foot in the door.

2. Local Facebook Groups

I have had success with Facebook groups join a bunch of local Facebook groups in your area because there are always photographers seeking other photographers. Or, there are things like Moms looking for baby pictures or family pictures.

Find Model Groups and not only get photoshoots they will pay for. It's also a great way to find models that maybe will work for free and you can just go out and get some “bang in” shots and have a great portfolio.

So Facebook groups are an amazing resource that I didn't discover until a couple of years ago, but it's so worth checking out alright.

3. Word of Mouth

So in the next photography side hustle, we are actually going to discuss is the word of mouth my mom, who is my biggest fan just spread.

The good word around town is that I am a photographer and you want to believe just the amount in the diversity of opportunities that I got.

Let's talk a little bit more about that. Basically, I just gave her my price sheets to show, and I did a little video clip of my photography. She talked to her dog groomer, her hairdresser people.

Now  I work with just about everywhere.

4. Stock Website Photographs and Photographing Architecture

You know just my career so far was that I was really open when I was in the corporate world that photography was my favourite thing in the world and when I was an ARC landscape, architect or marketing for a landscape architecture company, they would actually send me out to do architecture photos for high design firms.

So I built up this huge portfolio for architecture on stock photo sites and I was just an intern or just getting started in my corporate gig and I just diversified my portfolio.

I don't think you're gonna get rich off from uploading stock photos by any means, but I think it's a great opportunity to take the photos that you already have and put them online and see like just see where they go. I know that some people have had a lot of success with it.

Some people say it's oversaturated, but I want to make a video and kind of really test it out as a professional photographer, but it's probably one of the most passive ways to make income in photography. So I think it's worth mentioning.

5. Photo Editing on Fiverr

Another option is Fiverr editing and this isn't necessarily you getting out and shooting.

But it's you editing other people's work and that's that you actually learn a lot whenever you edit your photos. You learn what works. What doesn't look good that you can't fix on the computer? So, I think if you have lightroom 5 or another editing app. So, if you have the ability to use a graphics editor, photo editing is a quick and easy way to start making money by practicing your editing skills.

6. Selling Your Photos Prints

Another thing I'm interested in doing is to start selling prints, and I really think that this is when you become more advanced as a photographer, that you can sell prints that can be scaled and printed out at a large size may be having a full-frame camera is very important.

As is knowing how to shoot in manual mode, so if you're still trying to figure out how to shoot in manual. I have a video right here where you can take a look and maybe start producing some prints that you can start selling out there on your website. I'm going to start implementing this for my business because I think it's another great passive way to make income.

I love landscape photography and I would love to make a couple of bucks here or there taking the photos. If someone wants to you know, hang my work in their home, so speaking of architecture, photography.

But, another great one, that's maybe even more accessible is real-estate photography.

7. Real Estate Sales Photography

You know at least one real estate agent and don't be shy. Ask them: “Hey, could you just visit a house and shoot a couple of photos for your portfolio?” The chances are they're going to let you because that's like two hundred and fifty bucks they're saving?

So it's a great way to get your foot into the door for real estate. You might need an existing portfolio or just be willing to work a little bit for free, but eventually, you can make money pretty quickly with real estate photography.

All you really need is a camera, a wide-angle lens, and a tripod. It is a great way to start making money with photography on a regular basis. So this next photography, side hustle, is one that I personally struggle with, but I think it's such a great business tip, even if you aren't doing photography.

8. Knock on Doors

I think everybody should know how to go and just knock on doors. You should be able to own who you are not be shy about it and find the clients that you're looking for.

Sometimes clients, don't even know that you're there unless you tell them or if you pay for advertising.

You got to go knocking to get those jobs!

When those jobs start coming. That word of mouth starts, you know, snowballing into more and more and more prospects. Then the phone starts ringing. But you got to put in the legwork to get there.

So knocking on doors is a skill that if you want to eventually be a business owner of any type you need to develop, so you diversify streams of income or just break into a market in general.

9. Becoming a Photographer for Airbnb

So my most unique photography side hustle that you probably have never heard of yet it's becoming a photographer for Airbnb. I just applied to become one because I want to see where it takes me. So I'm curious because I already have a house and I Airbnb it out. So I'm all about Airbnb.

So that's my most unique opportunity that I don't think many people talk about there's.

10. Use Your Photos to Create Airbnb Experiences

Also, there are things called “Airbnb experiences”. You literally can set these up like it's kind of like being a tour guide. You can set up these tours across your home city.

In these photography tours, you lead a group of people to the most Instagramable spots in your city. This is a great way to make extra money. You don't even really probably need to know that much about photography. You just need to know where the good areas are.

So Airbnb is a great option. There are multiple ways to build a portfolio and make money on Airbnb. Maybe you can start with experiences and then move on to becoming an actual listing photographer.

Mistakes to Avoid When Starting to Make Money from Photography

Mistakes to avoid as a young entrepreneur, photographer or filmmaker, setting out into the world to try and make this a career, or trying to make some money from it.

Maybe it's just some extra cash on the weekend or a full-blown paycheck. These are a couple of things I've compiled that I wish I had when I started or wish that I did better. And we're going to start with those.

So the list goes on and on and on and on.

Those things are valuable. So once you start charging for your work, make sure you're charging enough, I mean you think about it like some of these cameras are thousands and thousands of dollars.

Make Sure you Charge Enough

You're gonna go do some portrait shots and you're only gonna charge 100 bucks or 200 bucks for a quick portrait session, what does that say about you as a photographer and the quality of work that you put out, and two how has that ever actually going to make you money or pay back your gear or actually get you ahead in this game.

So make sure you're charging enough. Sometimes you can throw numbers out there that might even seem a little crazy to you and that client comes back and goes yeah alright no problem and you think to yourself, oh, oh, I did (stutters) (gasps).

It can be very exciting.

But it's something that you got to take seriously. So really sit down and factor in all of those things I listed to know what your time is worth and charge accordingly. Point number three is coming up. (upbeat instrumental music).

Checklists

Point number three is checklists. I can't stress this enough.

So if you're going on a shoot, let's just say you're shooting a wedding, you've got the contract in place. You've charged the fee rate you wanted to. But now comes the actual shoot day.

I always recommend getting a checklist from the client of everything they want to be done. That way, you can reference that throughout the day throughout the shoot, and you know, you've got everything. If that client fails to provide you with something on that checklist it is not your fault.

For example, let's just say you're shooting a wedding, you've got that checklist.

Get the shot of the dress. Get the drinks in the morning, and the gifts, the first look blah, blah, blah, blah! You're knocking off all those things from the checklist. But it may be two weeks later, that client comes back and says:

“Aunt Margaret never had her portrait taken with us.

We're very upset about this.

And she flew all the way here from Australia. And we're not going to see her ever again.

And you didn't even take photos.”

And then you can pull out that checklist that you had that client make for you and sign off on. You really do have to point out that you could not have known unless told about this requirement.

At this point you just have to say;

“Look, you didn't tell me to take any pictures of this aunt from Australia, it's nowhere on this list. So how was I supposed to know that?”

So the Contract is there to protect you as well as your client. It's there to help you make sure that you get everything that client wants. That's a good thing. But, equally, it makes it clear the boundaries of any reasonable complaint, should for example they feel upset about missing out on a visual record of a relative.

Photo Shoot Contracts

Contracts are so important. They are no fun at all to make. They're no fun to read. And they're no fun to sign. But they are there to protect you.

No matter who you are shooting for.

Listen to me, no matter who you're shooting for. If it's a friend, if it's family, it doesn't matter. Get a contract, and lay out everything that you hope to do for that person. Both of you sign it, date it, whatever. If there's compensation, both of those things are agreed upon, you both signed, and it's done.

That way if anything comes up if extra work is piled on, if you didn't do enough work, both parties have a signed document clearly outlining what the expectations are.

Because I find that the biggest loophole that's the biggest mistake is expectations are always different from one person to the other. If those expectations are set out clearly at the very beginning and they're followed through to the end you have a fallback.

So, if your customer says they are unhappy about the result, you can see where you may have underperformed on your promises. If you have done all that is called for in the contract, very often an amicable outcome can be achieved.

So if you don't have a contract, download a sample template, check it out, read it, and maybe fill in your own stuff.

Do whatever you gotta do. Take it to a lawyer, and get a friend to look at it. Get your parents to look at it. Get your older siblings to look at it, whatever. Start with something.

So what don't I like about it?

I don't like terribly much about the sales page is the fact.

It says that the average price or minimum price would be about two thousand dollars for a video.

Now, that's just not true in the United Kingdom where I live and sell. In this rural area, where I live, it's a market town and the businesses are small. There isn't that great a population. So the businesses just don't have that sort of money, but $500 that's easily obtainable.

All right guys. The first way to make money by using a Snapchat account is what is known as “print on demand”.

It's something that allowed me to go from zero dollars a day to $100/day to even a thousand dollars a day selling. Jesus t-shirts were what I sold back when I was younger.

Dropshipping Product Designs with Printful

Now, here's the thing, I didn't actually have to buy a bunch of t-shirts myself. I did not have to ship the t-shirts myself. Somebody else would literally do all that hard work for me.

All I had to do was just kind of like upload the designs that I enjoyed and then I would make money in passive income, based on that entire business model.

There are a lot of people using Snapchat to go ahead and sell their t-shirts without ever having to do the shipping and handling of the merchandise themselves.

As you can see there are people like, for example, David Dobrik where he'll literally put like merch and stuff like that up, with little designs on sweaters and hoodies.

But the craziest thing is he's never actually the one that manufactures the hoodies himself.

Partnering an Existing Shopify Store

You could literally partner with somebody else for free with their Shopify Store and you can literally see that there's this thing on Shopify where it's called Printful.

Printful is where you can create and sell custom products online and the only time you have to buy the products is after you've already made the sale.

That means there's virtually no risk to you! The craziest thing is that if you have some type of design work to use, you don't have millions or even thousands of subscribers. There are ways with Snapchat that you could sell your custom products.

You can have your own t-shirt brand, swimwear brand, hat brand, dresses you name it!

You can have prints on everywhere necklaces joggers jackets all these things. You could essentially sell for free on your Snapchat account without having any experience and without actually having to spend your own money.

Creating Your Own Shopify Website or Etsy Store

This is exactly how this works. You can literally create a Shopify website at a really affordable cost.

Just like that, you can literally have hundreds if not thousands of products for sale.  And you can use Snapchat as a marketing channel. You can see some of these are very simple.

I made a lot of money from Snapchat. I used it to build my other social media platforms. Back in the day, I was literally trying to make a bunch of Youtube videos.

That's like 300 a month in passive income! So I started posting more on my Snapchat and getting more people to watch my Youtube videos etc. And it helped me grow, for example, on Youtube and then it got to a point where I was doing $100s a day and I was like: “Oh my God this is crazy!”

I didn't know this was possible! But that's what happens when you get people from Snapchat to visit you on other social media sites such as Youtube or Instagram.

Ranking for Search Terms

It tells you that being somewhat popular on social media helps you rank for certain search terms.

As you can see from this data, within that first year it got to the point where I got $400 a day, and that was already life-changing.

I was like; “this is crazy”! Not only do I get a like make posts that I like with Snapchat, but I was using it to build a business on other platforms.

Now I'm not just dependent on making “Snaps” every single day. Now, by diversifying with other social media, my money no longer depends on how entertaining I am on a daily basis on Snapchat.

I used it to jumpstart other businesses that are a lot easier to build. I would double down on that of course.

Hey Gingy how's it going today? Good. Thank you for having me on. How are you?  Yeah, I'm great.

It's great to have you on. I've interviewed one or two women on OnlyFans, but I feel every single one has a different story. I think it's interesting always to hear your perspective and what your situation is like.

At the end of the day, it's all entertainment, so props to them. But yeah, the site itself is getting more and more out there. And I love it. I know you love it.

I say… if you are trying to use OnlyFans as a way to get you to fix your loneliness, I say that you need to stop doing that and go and meet women in person. Because a lot of men are doing it in place of that.

When did you start doing an OnlyFans account?

How old are you now and when did you start?

I'm currently 27, about to be 28 in August. I started OnlyFans last March. I think it was mid-March. I've been doing this for about a year and a couple of months.

Did you see traction right away?

I did. Yes.

OnlyFans is definitely a huge part of what I do.  But I'm also not the type of person to put all my eggs in one basket.

What percentage of your income is coming from OnlyFans?

I would say it's a 50. It's 50 – 50 right now.

How much do you make from OnlyFans? I do around 10k per month? 10k per month.

Damn,  that's a lot. That's why I people… everybody has their different philosophies on how they set up their pricing and stuff.

And for me, what I do, works for me.

How much of that are you reinvesting? Do you have to buy new clothes, outfits, whatever?

I don't budget all that right now. Just in the sense, a lot of that is all tax write-offs for me as well. I kind of just put it as a taxable thing and continue on.

But for me, what I've also realized is during a certain period of time, I was putting way too much effort into it.

And when I say way too much effort, it was too detail-oriented. I'm a very detail-oriented person. I was trying to come up with for example, Valentine's. I did four different looks and I made sure to do pictures, videos, gifts for every single look.

And then I do my usual month I call spicy video of the month which is my masturbation video.  And it was just taking me such a long time to do because at the end of the day, I do everything myself.

I am the photographer, I am the editor, I am the camera person, I am the creative director.  I'm the stylist, I have to do my hair and makeup, I have to figure out my outfit. I'm doing all of that.

That in itself takes about five hours give or take plus actual shooting. I have to put a mirror behind my camera and the Bluetooth remote and make sure that I'm getting all.  I was putting all that effort and I didn't see the return on it.

Because at the end of the day, a lot of guys that do subscribe to OnlyFans, want the girlfriend experience. As in the pictures and the videos if you were to send to a significant other.

Let's say I sign up, or let's… I sign up, I want to subscribe to you so I pay you and subscribe.

Go ahead, explain how it works. So you pay for the… It sounds like there's a  subscription plus you can pay for personal stuff.

Explain that. Initially to get inside you have to pay for the subscription.

My personal subscription is $14.99. As soon as you get into the website,  it almost looks like a Facebook feed.

You're going through it, you can like, comment, tip. Umm,  like, comment, tip. I think there's one other thing that I can't think of at the top of my head.  So I'm paying $14.99 to see your feed?

Correct and with that me personally, I know some girls that do, I don't ever delete anything.

You can scroll all the way back to the beginning of my OnlyFans.  I think right now I have over 500 pictures and probably will say 100 videos or GIFs involved with that.

What's the theory behind that? Because intuitively it sounds smarter to delete them so it keeps people on longer but you're not doing that.

What's the reason behind that? I've never thought about deleting them for a long period of time because I think it's interesting for even myself to go back and you see the growth.

I always send out usually per week, I'll send two to three PPVs, which are the pay per view videos, so you can mass DM everybody that subscribes to you and it's locked.

What's cool about it is you can put a preview on it. I like to do prereviews because at the end of the day, one majority of the subscribers are going to be men and they do want…

I don't know, I feel they're visual creatures. I would say as men are. I like to put a little preview. I feel like once I start doing previews, I get more people to entice to buy as well. If you are interested, you click it, it says pay to view and then you click pay and then you get the video. And you also get the video for as long as you're as long as you are on the website.

Got it. The question is, would you ever do pornography?  I would not. For any amount of money?

Nope. I'm not a money-driven type of person. At the end of the day, I do this because I fully enjoy it and I think that's why I do have as much success as I personally do with the way I do things.  Because I always make sure I never put out content that I don't want to put out.

I never make content just to get that money.

Because I feel that… So why are you doing it? What's the biggest reason?

I honestly enjoy it. It's part of me.

And what's so interesting about your answer is this is the reason why OnlyFans is so big.

But at the end of the day, you know that by subscribing to me what you're going to see. If you're trying to get to know me, my Instagram.  Slide into those DMs and put more than just an emoji.

And people don't understand OnlyFans is a full-on business.

You have to learn marketing, you have to learn a lot of strategies, you do have to be consistent on it because if you aren't fully treating it like a full-on business, you're not going to do well.  And I think that is why I've done so well is because I have fully made it a business structure that I could replicate.

But eventually, my biggest thing in life is to help other women become more divine and shine more into the light of who they truly are.

Or what's your strategy there? I definitely use TikTok because it is the fastest organic platform.  With that being said, it's contributed a lot to my success. But I also have gotten banned,  permanently banned. And I had to switch up my marketing strategy a little bit because.

I'm sure… I don't know if people know, but your first two hours only show to 10%. If that does well, the next two hours, it goes to a bigger pool.

After those two hours, that's when it will go viral.  I had to restart it. And I only follow and interact with other people that do cosplay,  other thirst traps, and I have been perfectly fine that way. But for me as well, because TikTok is still at the end of the day, like a lot of these platforms. They don't like women putting their OnlyFans bio in there because these women are making more money than the platform itself.

And of course, they don't like that. Especially Instagram. Instagram is pay to play at this point.

Talking about money, specifically how to make money on Twitch. This video will be about how to make money from content creation as a whole.

In actually looking at how much money I make personally I know that's a bit of a no-no in the Twitch and content creation sphere. But if you guys are interested make sure you leave a like because that will let me know how many people want to see it.

How do you even make money on Twitch?”; now that's a question I get asked quite a lot because people coming in for the first time or people who are affiliates don't actually know how the Twitch process works.

On twitch unlike other platforms like Youtube you actually make money from the users on the platform. Now that's not saying you can't make money from Twitch itself. They have ads revenue and game sales, but those are really uncommon as moneymakers. That's not really how many people make their money on Twitch.

The most common way of making money is through paid subscriptions which your audience can give you as bits. Those are almost like a form of Twitch virtual currency. 100 bits ii I think equal to one dollar.

You can also make money through donations which go through direct links to your PayPal account. People can just send you money that way. That concept may seem very alien to some people especially if you're coming to Twitch for the first time.

To me, it was definitely alien at first. I'd never kind of experienced anything like that. I had previously had a job on Youtube before. I was making money and I made all my money through ad revenue. But there was no kind of interaction from the audience you know.

It was just kind of more passive income. On Youtube people watch stuff. I then make money if they watch those through the adverts.

Whereas for Twitch it is very much that you rely on your audience to make you money.

This brings me back to my earlier mention that I wanted to talk about making money as a content creator.

We can kind of go through making money on Twitch now you understand how the money is made.

With Twitch itself is you want to iron out the points that make you interesting. so to make money on that platform either you're an incredibly skilled artist you're incredibly skilled at video games.

You kind of must have that special selling point that makes you unique in order to get followers to join.

That's because Twitch is almost like a subscription service like Netflix, right. The people that I support. The people that I invest in. The reason I watch them is that they provide me with entertainment.

I can't get that entertainment anywhere else. So your entertainment value has to be through your special skills because they're phenomenal. Either they are ace video game players or they are incredible artists. Maybe they are really good singers.

That sort of added value is the reason why I watch them. It's the reason why I want to support them. So, that's the sort of people making unique content that make money on Twitch.

Oh! Another way is getting to know your community. Being more personable. Getting to know your audience. Take my audience for example I guarantee I probably know what they're doing next weekend! I think I probably know where they've recently been on holiday. I kind of know what they had for dinner that night!

Just kind of having that really personal relationship works because it helps people feel invested in you.

Let them know your story. Let them know why you're full-time online. Let them see what you're doing. All that kind of thing.

The people I support, I support them because I know they are full-time content creators. I support them because I feel like I have a close relationship with them. In reality, I probably don't. But I feel like I do. That makes me want to support those people.

If you want help with things like you're buying a new house, or you need to pay rent that month, having a donation goal at the bottom of your streams is a really really good way.

That's a moneymaker just because it allows your audience who knows you to see what you're kind of going for. The goals you're kind of reaching for. If they want to they can help out.

But now with Twitch, it is really important not to become expectant of money. It's not passive income in the way Youtube is. Your audience will be the ones supplying you with your income.

So it's really important not to kind of like get into that mindset where you expect people to give you stuff. At the end of the day, they don't have to give you anything.

They are there watching you for free. It should be a free viewing experience and it should be you providing entertainment because you want to. If you want to make people's days enjoyable. It's entirely up to them if they want to support you.

Financially that's super awesome! It's really really great. I mean that's amazing, but don't become reliant on that kind of cash.

That flows nicely into the point that I want to make. That's about the fact that you should also be making money from other revenue streams at the same time.

Twitch is very very volatile especially around certain months like September. In September people go back to school so there are not many people around. That means there's not as much money to be had.

In December obviously, it's Christmas. People are travelling. People are buying presents. There's less money being spent on Twitch so you can actually see a huge huge drop in your revenue around these periods.

This year covid has left people without jobs. It's been a struggle for everyone. A lot of people haven't been able to financially support the people that they necessarily want to.

That's why it's really important when making money on Twitch to also use things like Youtube. Getting Youtube partner ad revenue from making Youtube videos is passive and helps you get money when Twitch ain't so hot.T

Twitch is actually like my smallest amount of money earned. So, I've tried to maximize my revenue stream. I've got loads of things coming from different places. Instagram and Tick Tock are both fantastic platforms to make money on.

You can do that by doing product reviews. Companies will reach out to you. I've had a few companies reach out to me recently asking if I will review their products and put a post on my Instagram.

That's another really really good way to utilize all of that if you're interested in going on Instagram again.
